CTX Offense
How we hit, how we hunt our pitch, how we run the bases, and how we bunt to put pressure on every defense we face. Know it before you step in the box.
Offensive Non-Negotiables
Hunt the Pitch
We don't wait for strikes, we look for our pitch. If we get it early, we let it rip.
Pressure the Defense
We put the ball in play, we bunt, and we run. Every ball hit is a chance to make them execute.
Take Extra Bases
We take the extra base until they stop us. We make the throw beat us, not the runner.
Pass the Baton
Every at-bat belongs to the team. Get on, move her over, bring her in.
How We Hit
Simple, aggressive, and repeatable. We take our swings with a plan, and we are not afraid to fail aggressively.
Our Approach
- Have a plan before you step in — know the count, the situation, and what the defense is giving us.
- Look for a good pitch to hit and hit it hard. A hard-hit out is better than a soft, lucky hit.
- Get the barrel to the ball out front and hit line drives up the middle — hard ground balls and line drives first.
Our Swing
- Quiet hands, quiet head. The lower half starts the swing and the hips lead the hands.
- Stay inside the ball and keep the barrel in the zone as long as possible.
- Full swings only — no half swings, no hope swings, and finish balanced with the eyes on the ball.
Two Strikes & Late At-Bats
- With two strikes we shorten up, move up in the box, and put the ball in play. No strikeouts looking.
- Battle every pitch — fight off her pitch, take the walk if she gives it, and make her throw more.
- A foul ball is a win. The longer the at-bat, the better the pitch we get to hit.
Our Five Swing Drills
These are the drills we work every week. Know the focus, the cue, and the feel of each one, then take it to your own tee and front toss work.
Top Hand
Barrel control and staying inside the ball
- Set up on a tee or front toss with only the top hand on the bat, elbow up and behind the bat.
- Take 10 controlled swings, driving line drives up the middle — no pulling off the ball.
- Finish with the barrel through the ball and the top hand flat under the pitch.
Do not roll over. Top hand drives the barrel through the ball.
Bottom Hand
Short, quick hands and the swing path through the ball
- Bottom hand only on the bat, knob to the ball, hands tight to the body.
- Take 10 quick swings, feeling the hands work short to the ball and long through it.
- Keep the front side closed while the hands do the work through the zone.
Short to the ball, long through it.
Pause Drill
Balance, timing, and no early drift at the plate
- Load and stride, then pause at the launch position for a two count.
- Hold the pause — no front foot leaking forward and no hands drifting back.
- Fire off the tee, 10 reps — this drill is off the tee, not with a partner tossing.
Load, pause, fire — no drift, no rush.
Super Coil
Coiling the hips and loading the body to create power
- Face the pitcher — both feet and chest square to her.
- Hold the coil, then explode through the ball with the barrel out front.
- 10 hard swings, feeling the back hip drive the hands through the zone.
Coil it up, then let the hips lead.
Full Swings
Putting it all together at game speed
- Full swings off the tee — full load, full swing, full finish. No partner toss.
- Work both counts: swing at your pitch, then battle with two strikes.
- Finish every swing balanced, head down, eyes on the ball, hands high.
Game speed, game swing — every rep like it counts.
